In 2008, Petrogas Rima was awarded a 15 year contract by Petroleum Development Oman to increase production from a cluster of small fields in the Rima area of Al Wusta region, Oman (working interest 75%, partner OOC EP 25%). Production was at the time around 2,200 bopd from 20 wells in 9 mature fields. Petrogas Rima has now drilled an additional 65 wells and production has been increased to more than 14,000 bopd. Production from three remote unconnected fields began in 2011, trucking oil which had lain stranded for several decades to an offloading point on the existing pipeline infrastructure. There are plans for more than 100 further new wells in the next few years to increase production still further. New 3D seismic is being acquired in H1 2012 to underpin these activities. Petrogas Rima is more than 90% Omanised and we are proud to have recruited and developed a large number of fresh Oman graduates in Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering, Engineering, HR and HSE thus far
